Crocheted Spirit Doll with Real Bones

This is the beginning of a project I had in mind for a while.

At first, I wanted a simple crocheted doll as a decor item, but then I realized it had potential to become something much cooler. That's when I came up with the idea of making a spirit doll using real bones of animals.

The bones used for this project came from animals that were found already deceased and properly sanitized.

I started it by crocheting a simple body as a base.

Then I proceeded with the clothes. For them, I used fabric scraps I had at home, trying to copy victorian garments as inspiration. Unfortunately it didn't go as planned, as the scraps were made of polyester and I didn't have much experience sewing such tiny pieces. The color pallete turned out great, though.

Next step would be attaching the bones to the body. I used a chicken skull for the head and dog bones for the legs. I was also planning on crocheting a pair of shoes and a straw hat, inspired by Anne of Green Gables. At this point, however, I figured out it would be wiser to just start it all over again.

Overall, I was satisfied with the result of this spirit doll. I have a bunch of ideas for my next project and I'm sure it will turn out great.
